PIGSTY in Rotholz

We have a very modern pigsty. Many people call it a 5*-pig-hotel. The reason why we see it as such a modern sty is that the pigs have a lot of space, they can choose to go out or stay inside, the piglets have tall, nice and comfortable boxes together with their mums. We feed the pigs, clean the sty and in theoretical subjects we learn about breeding, feeding and keep
ing the pigs healthy. But, of course, we also slaughter the pigs in school. One of the jobs we are prepared for after school is butcher. That is one of the reasons why we do it at school. After slaughtering we produce different products like sausages, bacon or meat. Many products are used in our kitchen and so we know that we really get healthy and organic meat on our plates! But we also sell a lot of the meat and the products to customers.
